About Kat

PILATES. I’ve been addicted to pilates since 2009. I took a few classes at a pilates studio, and after nailing my form with help from my instructor, I continued regularly working out with pilates at home. I have 2 kids, and NOTHING has toned my post-baby body like pilates!

POLE DANCE. In 2007, I came across a youtube video of pole dance. Not the strictly stripping kind, but I noticed how strong and acrobatic the movement was. It was beautiful and a workout all in one! For 4 years, I drooled over youtube videos, blogs & message boards as I learned more and more about pole dance. My sister in law and I went to an intro pole class summer 2010. We were HOOKED within the hour! And Christmas 2010, my wish came true! My husband bought me my first xpole! I am a total addict!!! I am looking into taking a few series classes at a different local studio here in the Atlanta area to broaden my horizons in pole 🙂

ITWORKS. I’ve been a distributor with ItWorks since March 2011. It is not only providing me with financial freedom for my family, but the supplements, skin care and body slimming products are the PERFECT addition to my diet and exercise regimen. Our body wraps are AH-MAZING! If you would like more information, I would LOVE to answer any questions you may have 🙂

  1. Hey so I am in the drooling stage over athletic pole dancing, and would love to look into getting a pole to start training at home. What do you recommend?

    • Hi Bethany! I definitely recommend an X-Pole!

You can get different grips or sizes, also spinning or static. Titanium Gold is easier to grip, Chrome is slicker. 50 mm is easier to grip with your legs, but harder to grip with your hands. 45 mm is easier if you have small hands, but harder to grip with your thighs. The pole competitions and the “standard” size for poles are moving to the 45mm instead of 50mm.

I have a 50mm Chrome Xpert (does both spinning and static). I have smaller hands, but figure I’d rather get used to a harder grip with my hands than my thighs. I am going to get a second Xpert, it will be 45mm Titanium Gold 🙂 There are benefits for each, it is really up to your preference!

I also highly recommend checking out studioveena.com –it is a VERY helpful forum & also there are AMAZING online lessons available for pretty cheap 🙂

Hope this helps & let me know if you have anymore questions or would like to see me feature something on my blog!
